This is the do-over to the "So Chaud" look I created a few weeks. I wasn't really feeling it, so I told myself, whenever possible, I would redo it again (that's the perfectionist, talking!). MUL: "Berries & Pink"

My look for today was suppose to be subtle. However, I wasn't really feeling the look I created. It was a little bland.....so I ended up with this. A far cry from subtle, don't you think? Lol! This was inspired by a  look created by TheFancyFace.

MUL: "Whimsical Sphinx" (Peacock Inspired I)

I was feeling Peacock-y today, thanks to my Aldo Peacock earrings. I wore this out to the mall today and it was created using Magnolia Makeup pigments--again! I really don't know what my obssessioin is with these pigments, but I cannot wait to get some more.

Face:

After moisturising my face with a moisturizer, I primed my face with Urban Decay Complexion Brightening Primer. Then I applied, MAC Studio Fix Moisturizer Tint in Dark Plus. I also, applied MAC Studio Fix Concealer under my eyes and anywhere else that need 'concealing'. I set the foundation and concealer with MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder  in NC43. On my cheeks, I am wearing MAC Sheertone Blush in Gingerly.

Brows:

On dry skin I line my brows using MAC Eye Brow Pencil in Stud. Then, I used the E.L.F Eyebrow Kit to fill in any sparse areas. Then, I combed and set my brows with Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara.

Eyes:

I begin by prepping my lids with Urban Decay Shadow Primer Potion to prevent creasing. I then apply NYX JEP in Milk as a secondary eyeshadow base to ensure I get a good color payout.

Using Magnolia Makeup Pigments (MMP), I applied Colures on my inner lid and tearduct. Whimsical on my middle lid. Envy on my outer lid. For highlight, I applied Sphinx. For my crease and brow bone, I added #108.

I lined my upper lash line with NYX Super Skinny Eye Marker in Carbon Black. For my lower lash line, I applied MMP in Envy and #108.  I lined my lower water line with L'oreal HIP Color Truth Cream Liner in Black. I then applied E.L.F Natural Black lashes for effect and finished my eyes with L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara.

Lips:

I first moisturized my lips with some Blistex and then applied MAC Slimshine Lipstick in Mousse. (This product line has since been discontinued)

WTF: Kiss Premium Lashes with Applicator Strings

I am always looking for products to add to my kit, especially ones that help the makeup application process easier. I have been hearing a lot about the Kiss Premium Lash with applicator strings, so I decided to give these a try. Let me start by saying, there wasn't much of a variety. The ones that were there didn't seem to have that 'natural' look, I usually go for (that should of been my first clue). Secondly, they looked fake. Now, I decided to over look that, because I own a pair of Sephora brand flair lashes and in the box they appear fake; but once applied, they look and feel so natural. So that wasn't a deal breaker. Besides, 'faster application time' was really the most intriguing part of the product for me. So I got them!

If I didn't hate (and wear) these lashes so (explicit) much, I would of gone back to Walgreens and got my $5 back! But I couldn't bare to add another one of these products on the market, so I trashed them! The lashes are being advertised as being faster and easier to apply. Yeah right! I already have enough of a hard time applying falsies with tweezers, but the strings were not any better (and that's with me watching the virtual demonstration). That's my third issue. My fourth issue is they were rough, heavy and they didn't feel or look natural. I even attempted to curl them to see if that would help with the heavy-ness and overall look in any way, they didn't even bend. Lol!

I can't even go on.....

Final Thoughts: No Thanks!

MUL: "Blue Had Me At Hello"

Yesssirr! I am rocking a cut-crease look! As you know, my first attempt was a disaster! I was determined to get this look down! I kept practicing until, I created my own technique using some of the Youtube tips I learned. This a 'night-out' look, because there's a lot going on. I am using the new Wet 'n' Wild palette. The colors are beautiful and highly pigmented. The best part, it only cost me $5!!!

This 'cut-crease' look was requested by Cynthia! Thanks for the challenge! Hope you like.

(I decided to do the product listing a little different. Please comment and let me know if this way is better)

Face:

After moisturising my face with a moisturizer, I primed my face with Urban Decay Complexion Brightening Primer. Then I applied, MAC Pro Long Wear SPF 10 Foundation in NC45. I also, applied MAC Studio Fix Concealer under my eyes and anywhere else need 'concealing'. I set the foundation and concealer with MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder  in NC43. For blush, I contoured my cheeks with the BH Cosmetics 10 Pro Blush Palette. (see pictures for which ones I used)

To outline the cut-crease I applied the shimmery blue color (3rd color down on the right) from the Wet 'n' Wild Blue Had Me At Hello palette and blended out the line. For the crease, I continued to apply and blend the shimmery blue color up to my brow bone area.I followed this with the matte black color (4th color down on the left). For my highlight, I used the shimmery icy mint color and blended. To deepen the crease I used the shimmery blue and matte black color. I then applied MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork on my lids and then topped that with the shimmery turquoise color (2nd color down on the right).

I lined my upper lash line with Maybelline Waterproof Ultra Liner. For my lower lash line, I used the shimmery turquoise color and then applied a glitter turquoise color from the NYX Glitter Cream Palette in Ocean Breeze. I lined my lower lash line with L'oreal HIP Color Truth Cream Liner in Black. I then applied E.L.F Natural Black lashes for effect and finished my eyes with L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara.

Lips:

I first moisturized my lips with some Blistex and then applied MAC Lustre Lipstick in Viva Glam V and finished my lips MAC Lipglass in Viva Glam V

Describing the 'cut-crease' was no easy task! Lol! This palette, really surprised me! I am really happy with how this came out. I really love the colors! This a definite must-have!

MUL: "Aztec Ocean"

This another look feauturing my favorite, Magnolia Makeup. I wore this to a friend's birthday dinner a few weeks ago. I couldn't find the charger to my camera, so I couldn't take any pictures. I meant to do this a while ago, but with all my hair drama, it was delayed.

Face:
  • Hard Candy Sheer Envy Skin Illuminating Primer
  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation- "Caramel"
  • MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder NC43
  • MAC Bronzing Powder- "Refined Deeper Bronze"
Brows:
  • MAC Eye Brow Pencil- "Stud"
  • E.L.F Eyebrow Kit
  • Maybelline Great Lash Clear Mascara
 Eyes:
  • Urban Decay Shadow Primer Potion
  • NYX JEP- "Milk"
  • Magnolia Makeup Pigment- "Aztec"
  • NYX Eyeshadow- "Frosted Ocean"
  • Sephora Flair Lashes
  • L'oreal HIP Color Truth Cream Liner- "Black"
  • Maybelline Define-A-Line Pencil- "Ebony Black"
  • L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara
Lips:
  • L'oreal Colour Riche Lipstick- "Fairest Nude"
  • MAC Cremestick Lip Liner- "Cushy"

This lipstick is BOMB! I have a tendency to have dry lips and it really helps maintain the moisture. My only complaint about it, is I always have to wear a liner with it to keep it from making me looked washed out. Oh well!

PB Hair: The BIG Chop

I had this entire post ready to go about how I was considering the 'big chop' and the difficulty I had trying to rock my hair for the first time and then, I got really aggravated and went out and did it! Lol! Anybody who knows me, knows that I have little patience and tolerance for tedious things. Due to the duo texture in my hair, I would I have to consistently braid my hair after wash to match my ends to my roots or I would have to blow dry and flat iron. Who the heck has the time for all that. I sure enough don't! So in my moment of emotional distraught, I went to Sally's Beauty supply and bought a pair of scissors for 14.99! (Why a pair of scissors cost that much is beyond my comprehension, but in my frustration I bypassed that notion)

Anyway, I am going to recount the events that led to today's 'big chop'....

So last night, after washing my hair I really wasn't up for blow-drying and flat-ironing, especially since it was one in the morning so I decided to braid it instead and hoped for the best. I guess, I didn't hope enough because when I woke up this morning and I took out my braids, this is what my hair looked like: (Please, excuse my appearance)

This pic was taken shortly before I had a breakdown. After regaining my composure, I decided that I was being over critical, so I attempted at styling it:

Not much of an effort, but it gave me enough confidence to go outside. Lol! My stepfather didn't help the situation either because he kept calling me Whitney Houston! Don't ask, I don't know where he was getting it from either. So at that point I said forget it, chop it off! So I called my Mom and asked her if she would be willing to assist. She agreed so I went to Sally's and picked up the necessities. After an hour of bickering back and forth, mainly because my Mother absolutely refused to cut my damn hair, we managed to remove the majority of the relaxed ends.

So this is my new hair after the big chop. It's going to get some getting used to, but at least now I can rock my natural hair. Right now, the biggest thing for me is learning how to take care and nurture my hair. This is going to be a long process and even bigger emotional process. Can't wait!

Bombshell Nails: "Sunset Sail" Tips

Sooo...this is my spin on the traditional 'french' manicure. This was created by Susan from Couture Nails. I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do, b/c I am so picky and indecisive. So we came up with this.

This was created using a new China Glaze color: Sunset Sail. Susan added the animal print for some flair. I know it's a bit boring, but boring works for me. :)!! I really like this. And yes! I am rocking a full set. Don't judge me! LOL!!! I have tried numerous times to rock my real nails, but I always end up rocking my tips! Oh well, small sacrifices.

MUL: "Neutral Cut Crease"

This is my failed attempt at creating a neutral 'cut-crease' look. I swear I followed the tutorial to the very last detail. However, it's either i have a low crease or I need more practice. I will choose the latter. If I am going to be honest, this turned out okay. Maybe I'm being over critical but either way it made for a nice neutral look. I guess......

  • Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer
  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation- "Caramel"
  • MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder NC43
  • BH Cosmetics Pro Blush Plette (see picture for colors used)
